Summary: The international phase 3 study IBCSG 23-01 randomised patients with breast cancer and one or more sentinel node micrometastases (≤ 2 mm) to axillary dissection or no axillary dissection. The ten-year disease-free survival was 76,8% in the group without axillary dissection versus 74,9% in the group with axillary dissection.
