BLOSSOM includeerde 73 patiënten onder wie 64 patiënten die evalueerbaar waren voor de werkzaamheid van osimertinib voor LMs. De mediane overall survival (primair eindpunt) was 15,6 maanden (95%-bti 11,5-20,2). De objective response rate (geblindeerd centraal beoordeeld) van de LMs was 51,6%, inclusief complete respons in 15,6%. Ziektecontrole werd gezien in 81,3%. De mediane LM-progressievrije overleving was 11,2 maanden (95%-bti 7,7-15,3) en de mediane duur van respons was 12,6 maanden (7,6-17,7). De meeste adverse events waren graad 1 en 2.
De onderzoekers concluderen dat osimertinib intracraniële werkzaamheid had in NSCLC –patiënten met LMs.

Summary: The phase 2 BLOSSOM trial, at 6 centers in South Korea, found that among EGFR-mutated NSCLC patients with leptomeningeal metastases, osimertinib 80 mg once daily had intracranial efficacy.
